We\u2019ll discuss the main reasons for Europe&#8217;s recent loss of global market shares and the risk of higher trade tariffs. Restoring Europe&#8217;s export competitiveness calls for avoiding the so-called \u201cmiddle technology trap\u201d, and, in terms of financing, more efficient use of the ample European savings.
