The past decade, responding to further integration of financial markets, EU supervision has changed fundamentally. Current EU supervision is better equipped to respond to the risks related to a stronger and more integrated European capital market. Moreover, the EU’s approach toward cross-border supervision is changing to respond to potential financial risks from other jurisdictions. Steven Maijoor will discuss these developments and where further improvements can be made.
