US Banking – Lessons learnt from the GFC in 2008/09 and how it was put to the test in 2023

Gerard S. Cassidy, a 30+ year banking industry veteran who works for RBC Capital Markets, will discuss how the post 2008-09 banking industry regulatory changes played a key role in preventing contagion from the 2023 SIVB, SBNY and FRB failures. As part of the discussion he will also highlight the factors that contributed to the bank failures and why they were idiosyncratic to these banks and the banking industry.
