Sustainable Finance

This research area is focused on the role of the financial sector in the transformation to a more sustainable economy. Due to the immense volume of investments needed to transform nearly all sectors of the economy, significant capital has to be mobilised from the private sector to reach the ambitious objectives set down in the Paris Agreement. Therefore, the research area “Sustainable Finance” deals with a variety of issues such as the associated regulatory framework, the design of sustainable financial products and the avoidance of “greenwashing”.
